Betdale Lancelot (Saanen)
DOB: September 2011
Sire: Betdale Atlantis Dam: Betdale Clare
Snowy came to us at 4 weeks old as a little guy and has grown into a beautiful buckling. We love his length of body and placid nature - he is such an easy buck to handle. I believe he has great milking genetics. His mother has a lovely first lactation udder with great attachments and high milk yield - 5L per day. She is a particularly easy milker with great milk letdown and flow, good sized teats for hand milking and large orifices. She also tested at 7% butterfat only a week into her first lactation. She has been shown very successfully with several champion ribbons and being awarded 2011 Goatling of the Year. Snowy is registered as an IR buck as Clare is an Appendix D doe - meaning Snowy's progeny will be Appendix D. However we feel his genetics are worthwhile to use despite this. He also missed out on dehorning as a kid, the horns along with the IR registration mean he is unable to be shown but we look forward to his progeny debuting in the show ring in 2012.

Betdale Kodiak (Anglo Nubian)
DOB: 15/12/2011
Sire: Betdale Koda Dam: Betdale Asha
Little Kodiak is the baby of the herd, coming home with us from Betdale stud at just 4 weeks old. We love his thick and stout little body, and his masculinity at such a young age. Kodiak presents an interesting combination of udder genetics. His dam Asha has lovely small teats and good milk yield - 5L per day; although she requires better rear attachment. His sire Koda's dam has a very well attached udder, and has won the best udder class at several shows (quite a feat for a nubian) however she has large teats. She also has great yield, giving 5L per day on her first and second lactation. Kodiak will be kept as a backup buck to use over Hallo and Zenny if the American semen does not arrive in Australia in time to be used for this year's breeding season. He will also be used over Gemma. Kodiak is registered as an IR buck as Asha is an Appendix doe - meaning Kodiak's progeny will be Appendix D. However we feel his genetics are worthwhile to use despite this. He also missed out on dehorning as a kid, the horns along with the IR registration mean he is unable to be shown but we look forward to his progeny debuting in the show ring in 2012.
