~ Does at Serendipity ~
Our small herd currently consists of one Saanen doe and three Anglo Nubian does. All does were sourced from Betty Keown's Betdale stud at Cunderdin, WA.
Betdale Violet (Saanen)
DOB: 27/08/08
Sire: Trentham Merlot Dam: Dandalee Park Magnolia
First lactation yield (average): 5L per day
First lactation yield (peak): 7L per day
Violet is our herd queen and my special favourite girl. We feel extremely lucky to have Violet as our foundation Saanen doe as she embodies many of the traits I look for in a milking doe. Violet is tall, elegant, graceful and feminine - this dairy character earned her many wins in the show ring as a kid as well as the Western Australian Goatling of the Year award in 2010. Her conformation is very good being a long and deep doe with a good dairy wedge, her only fault being that her front legs turn out slightly. We hope to correct this in her daughters. Her udder is capacious and well attached, though we would like to see smaller teats. She milked very well on her first lactation and we are excited to see how she does on her second lactation this year. Her 2010 daughter Betdale Frangipani is doing very well in the show ring.

Betdale Hallo (Anglo Nubian)
DOB: 24th October 2010
Sire: Woodyville Klancy Dam: Tutchwood Trixie
Hallo along with her sister Zenny represent two very high quality does who we hope to build our Anglo Nubian herd around. Their mother Trixie is possibly the best Anglo Nubian doe I have seen. I was immediately impressed by her size, volume and capacity. She has enormous depth and length of body and is a thickset, powerful type of Anglo Nubian. She also has great udder conformation for a nubian - she has a well attached udder with good size teats - and has great yield of around 5L per day. Hallo is a beautiful eye catching doe - she has fantastic length of body and has already had success as a kid at several shows. She placed third in the Osborne Park Doe Kid Futurity class in 2010. We are hoping that she freshens this year with an udder as good as her mother. She will be part of our show team this year.

Betdale Zenny (Anglo Nubian)
DOB: 24th October 2010
Sire: Woodyville Klancy Dam: Tutchwood Trixie
We feel very lucky to have Zenny as part of our herd, and many thanks must go to Betty Keown for parting with both these beautiful doelings. Zenny shows the same tremendous length of body along with very dairy character. She will begin her show career this year. She will also be mated for the first time this year, we are excited to see how her udder freshens.

Betdale Gemma (Anglo Nubian)
DOB:
Sire: Nemo Dam: Sari
Second lactation (average): 2L per day
Gemma is a beautiful doe who displays the dual purpose nature of nubians in her length and depth of body and her easy fleshing ability. She was successful in the show ring as a junior doe however she carries an udder defect in that she only milks from one side of her udder. For this reason, she has been culled from the breeding herd. Despite this, she is one of our favourite milking does; she is an easy milker with great milk let down, flow and orifice size. She milks quite well from only one side, averaging 2L per day on her second lactation (not milked on her first). She even came into milk this year without having kids. Because of all this, Gemma will stay on here as a pet milking doe. All her progeny will be sold as desexed pets or will be used for meat - her progeny will not be used for breeding.
