Terms and Conditions of Sale
If you are thinking of buying a Serendipity dairy goat, we wish you many happy years with your new animals. Please read the following information carefully and ensure you are able to meet these basic requirements. A commitment by you to purchase one of our animals indicates that you have read and agree with these terms and conditions.
Care Requirements
Goats require fresh food, water, shelter, veterinary care, preventative health measures, adequate space and the company of other goats or livestock (a dog is not a substitute for another goat, however a sheep, alpaca or well behaved horse can be suitable).
You must check with your local council to confirm you are allowed to keep a goat in your area.
Choosing Your Goat
We recommend you come to the farm or a show we are attending and meet the goats in person, in order to choose the right goat for you. We are happy to provide advice and photos, however if you choose to purchase a goat sight unseen it is entirely at your own risk.
Payment Methods and Pick Up Times
If you decide to purchase a goat, or request to reserve a kid from a particular breeding, we require a $60 non-refundable deposit within 3 working days of your decision. This is to secure your purchase, and the animal will be listed as 'Sold Pending Pick Up'. If the animal is withdrawn from sale due to injury, illness, death or our decision to keep the animal, your deposit will be refunded to you or transferred to another animal of your choice. If you choose to back out of the sale you will forfeit your deposit.
Full payment is to be made on pick up/delivery. Adults must be picked up within 2 weeks of placing the deposit, and kids are to be picked up within 2 weeks of birth (unless prior arrangements have been made). If full payment has not been received, your deposit will be forfeited and the animal will be made available for sale. If full payment has been made but the animal has not yet been picked up, a boarding fee of $2 per day will be charged to cover feed expenses.
Cash on pick up/delivery is preferred; Direct deposit into our bank account and personal cheques are also accepted however with these methods the animal will not leave our property until the funds are cleared and can be seen in our bank account.
Transport and Delivery
Goats travel well in covered trailers, horse floats or utes with a canopy or covered cage. They can also be transported in the back of a station wagon or on the back seat of the car. Kids will fit into dog crates.
The buyer is responsible for all transportation expenses.
I will transport goats to shows that I am going to free of charge. Delivery to your property can also be arranged for a small fee.
Health
We pride ourselves on having healthy goats with no medical issues. Our herd is tested CAE free and all kids are raised on CAE prevention. All goats are vaccinated twice yearly for clostridial diseases, and treated for parasites as the need arises.
Any additional Veterinary Inspection or testing you require prior to purchase can be arranged but all costs will be the responsibility of the buyer, even if you decide not to purchase the animal.
We cannot be held accountable for any illness or injury that may occur after the animal has left our property. We are not able to control their environment or nutrition once they are out of our care. We are happy to try and assist you with any problems which may arise, please do not hesitate to contact us.
We will offer a replacement animal of equal value only if you have a veterinary certificate proving that there is a genetic problem which we should have been aware of.
WE RESERVE THE RIGHT TO WITHDRAW ANY ANIMAL FROM SALE, INCLUDING RESERVED KIDS, UNTIL FULL PAYMENT HAS BEEN MADE.
WE RESERVE THE RIGHT TO REFUSE TO SELL AN ANIMAL AT OUR DISCRETION IF WE ARE NOT CONFIDENT IN THE ABILITY OF THE PURCHASER TO ADEQUATELY CARE FOR THE ANIMAL.
